I couldn't figure out how to embed my powerpoint from the CILC workshop. If you cut and paste the link below, you will get to the presentation on Google Docs. Thanks.

The best book for Art Appreciation!!

WORLD ART The Essential Illustrated History. Yes, I destroyed the book for educational purposes. I cut through the binding and separated the pages. The prints are huge, almost 8 x 11. You can see the brushstrokes, plus the artist's basic information ad history is provided. There are images on both sides. Some images are inappropriate for public school. I solved the situation by taping the images too mature for public school back to back, leaving the useful images visible. Then I laminated them to avoid any curiosity and distraction. I've used them for two years now, they are fabulous. The kids do all sorts of art appreciation activities with them, including an art critic lesson which I posted on this blog earlier in October.
